FIERRO
El hierro, material indispensable para la evolución tecnológica y cultural, ha estado ligado a la vida humana a través de los siglos, omnipresente en la vida industrial y doméstica, hoy en día, sigue siendo un material típico y útil, tan metido en nuestro día a día, que muchas veces pasa desapercibido. No es así para Cristina, quien sí lo ve, lo detecta presente, bello, y además, le atribuye psicología: para ella, su fuerza es sensual, su función es sublime, incluso erótica.
Iron, an indispensable material for technological and cultural evolution, has been linked to the history of human life, omnipresent in industrial and domestic life, today it is still a commonly used material. Fully involved in our day to day, iron often goes unnoticed, not so much for Cristina, who does appreciate it, feels its beauty and attributes it personality: for her, iron strength is sensual, its function is sublime, even erotic.
No sólo la fuerza de los elementos de hierro es atractiva, si no también el esfuerzo humano necesario para su fabricación, hecho que aporta nobleza tanto al proceso como a la pieza final. Cristina aprovecha directamente la sabiduría del artesano forjador Jose Sebastiá Sanjuán para construir una silla, un catre y una cesta a partir de barrotes de reja, sin medidas exactas, con pasión, sin miedo, y cuando es necesario, a martillazos.
Not only the strength of iron elements is attractive, but also the human effort behind manufacturing, a fact that brings nobility both to the process and the final piece. The expertise of the artisan José Sebastiá Sanjuán is essential to build the chair, day bed and basket from iron bars, without taking into account exact measurements, without any fear, and when necessary, with strong hammer blows.
La serie Fierro hecha en España tiene carácter, el mismo que muchos elementos de hierro tradicionales comunes que viven con nosotros día a día en silencio, elegantes, cumpliendo su función aguantando el tipo.
The Fierro series, made in Spain, has the same character of so many common traditional iron elements that coexist with us in interiors and architecture in silence, with elegance, doing their job, “holding the nerve”.
